Pastor’s Biographical Sketch

Pastor David Hammer became the pastor of Danville Baptist Church on April 20, 2009.  He is passionate about helping others delight in Jesus through God’s word. He grew up in Syracuse, NY and earned degrees from Syracuse University and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. He has served in a variety of ministry positions in churches in Wheaton, IL and Spokane, WA. Prior to entering seminary he worked in Chicago as a software consultant.

Dave has been married to Amy since 2003. They treasure their three young girls, Anna, Ellie, and Abby. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with them, reading theology and literature, and keeping up with Syracuse University basketball.
